Meet Clint Boyd

Owner/Operator/Inventor

Clint Boyd resides at LaRiviere, Manitoba, in the beautiful Pembina Valley.

As a young boy, Clint showed interest in hunting, trapping, and fishing along the Pembina River. After trapping his first beaver at the age of 7 and selling the pelts to the Hudson’s Bay Company in Winnipeg, with cash in hand, he thought “this is what I want to do!”

Clint is a self taught tanner, and has mastered the skill of tanning buffalo robes,  beaver hides, tails, and turkey feet.

Clint became well known for his trapping skills and took great pride in the proper handling of the pelts, and soon became a sought after instructor, teaching trappers education throughout Manitoba.

For over 50 years now, Clint Boyd has been busy tanning, and perfecting his tanning skills.

Clint believes: if you can eat it, you can wear it!

Clint is best known for the tanning of Walleye fish Skins. (The Walleye Guy)

Clint buys the raw Walleye fish skins from The Freshwater Market out of Winnipeg, MB. The skins are a waste by product that is turned into tanned leather. This process has taken Clint over 20 years to perfect.

In 2021 Clint celebrated 35 years tanning walleye fish skin, and is able to offer you your own piece of tanning history through the Genuine Walleye Fish Skin Leather Products!
